Index showing up instead of Home page - 7/22/2007 20:10:32
I have ran into a problem. I have the website completely uploaded and everything is working fine except to the fact, When the URL is entered it directs users directly to the index. I have everything in the sub folder of entitled www and the opening html file of Welcome .html. I would just like to know if I am missing a folder or is there a title or a piece of script I am supposed to enter to allow the URL to go straight to the html.

Servers are usualy set up to look for the index.htm(l) file. If it is not present it will look for the index.php file to serve as the "home' page. If you would like to have your welcome.html file the home page just rename it to index.html.

You can also contact your hosting company and have them change this. If your hosting company uses Helm control panel, you can change the main page through that control panel as wel.
