Insert Photo - 7/23/2007 11:14:17
I am new to frontpage, I tried to insert a picture I had took with a digital camera. I had to edit the picture cutting it down to 270x203 pixel. When I inserted into the image folder and then into the page everything works. When I preview the page the picture doesnt show up. It has the box with a little symbol at the top left. It is yellow, blue, red. Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong

Even though the image resides in the images subdirectory, FrontPage doesn't know the path statement.

Proper procedure (while in page) is: >>Insert>>Picture from File, then browse for image.

Tip: When resizing images in FrontPage, always use the "Resample" command. Otherwise the image will retain the load time of the larger image (even though it will display the proper size). Also, it's a good idea to "Auto Correct" and "Compress Picture" when in Picture Properties >>General >>Edit. Get to this screen by double clicking the image once it has been inserted into your page.

Lastly, "Preview" is not the litmus test for FrontPage developers. Always use >>File >>Preview in browser after saving changes.
