FP 2003 is a wonderful program. Easy to learn and produce reasonably good web sites. I use PHP scripts and Javascripts and whatnot and it all works. FP has a super way to upload (publish) your site to your server that couldn't be easier.

That said, you should learn html, and CSS by buying some good books and doing the tutorials on this site. And FP extensions are going to be gone someday so some of the FP neat stuff will have to be redone.

I've never used FP or any other WYSIWYG editor to design a site - I prefer hand-coding as I have control over what's going on in the code without having to go back in and fix whatever the editor has decided to add in there.

In the end FP or DW are just tools. If you understand the markup then you can produce good results in any programme from Notepad upwards.

The issues arise when people don't understand the markup and rely on these editors to do the right thing (which they generally don't).

So, like TTR I'd strongly recommend learning HTML and CSS so that you can hand-code if necessary or at least check if FP is doing what it should.

There are many tutorials around but the ones I prefer are here:

CSS - http://www.cssbasics.com/
