With the table in place, right click >>Table Properties>>change Rows & Columns as needed.

BUT, the same you can do with a simple style sheet (css) linked to every page. Imagine you will have 10, 20 or more pages in the long run and you want to change the background color. With the style sheet you only do it once. with the "copy and pate" methode you need to do it 10, 20 or more time for the rest of the page.
