WebDav not working in EW - 8/4/2007 13:53:20
Hi there

Sure hope you can help me. I can't upload using WebDav to our school online class server. It works perfectly in FrontPage 2003, but the same settings will not work in EW. The login and password fails, then I get a message about the FPSE or SharePoint services not be installed. (They're not installed on the server to my knowledge.)

Under details, I get this message:
Authorization Required301 Moved Permanently
Error: Authorization Required. This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (eg bad password) or your browser doesn understand how to supply the credentials required. If the indicated error looks like a misconfiguration, please inform the webmaster. Moved permanently The document hs moved here. Apache/2.0,52 (Unix) DAV/2 mod_jk/1.2.6 Server at webct1.ccsf.edu Port 80.

As I said, I can connect and upload perfectly using the same settings in FP2003. It's a pain, though, to create in EW and then have to open FP2003 to upload. I have recommending EW to other teachers for doing web development, but really can't if WebDav can't be used.

Many thanks for reading this...hope you can help!

That message...means that IIS has been setup so that the URL has a permanent redirect to a different URL. You need to log in or put in the "real" URL. If your not sure what that is, try entering the url in the browser and see where it forwards you to.
