Video Conferencing Site - please review - 8/13/2007 15:36:07

The site is called MeBeam.com and I think there is a
need for it, and many will find it useful for
the following reason.

I've been in many situations where I'm talking to someone
on the phone, or through email, IM etc, and want to
hook up with this person via a video conference.
The person I am talking to, usually isn't too good at
computers, and the thought of trying to explain to them
* go to some website
* download some software
* register
* wait for an email confirmation
* install the software
* setup their web cam , firewall etc
* add me as a contact
* contact me and start the call
Is just too F(*#( hard, and more likely , my friend on
the other line, is going to find the whole process just
not worth the hassle.

So MeBeam, cuts out these steps completely, and is an
instant disposable video conference for 8 people.
The way it works is as follows.
I as the initiator, go to www.mebeam.com and type in the
name of a room ( the name of the room can be anything ),
and hit the connect button.
Let's call the room 'pizza1234'
At this point I can video chat with my friend(s) by
* telling them to go to www.mebeam.com and type in pizza1234
and clicking connect.
-- That's it, were instantly video conferencing.
Or the other way ( which is even easier )
* I click the invite button when in the room 'pizza1234'
and then do a paste (ctrl-v) in any IM program, which will
send the following message

Please join me in MeBeam room pizza1234
Click the following link to accept my invitation,
and instantly connect with me.
http://www.mebeam.com/myroom.php?pizza1234
--------
My friend just clicks the link, and he instantly joins me in
the video room.
Additionally, he can further invite other people into the
room by clicking the invite button and pasting into other IM's
(allows people from different IM's to be pulled into a common
video chat).
