Excel Problem - 8/30/2007 13:29:45
I have an Excel utility that friend built for me to run on data files to interpret currency fields. The data field has a set of characters that can appear at the end of the field and will denote the last character of the field and whether the field is negative or positive. I prepare the data file and then run the Excel utility. I used it a month back and it all worked fine. I went to use it recently and it keeps throwing up an error. The error appears to be an issue with the worksheet name. I have tried this on two machines and have the same problem. I spoke to my friend who created it and he tried the utility on the file that I had just tried it on and it worked fine!! I know that sometimes errors appear that are not really the error but are indicative of a problem elsewhere. Given that this Excel utility has worked one month previously and still works on my friends machine, does anybody have any thoughts on why I might be getting this error? I hope you can help as I desperately need to use it. Cheers Steve

There's been a series of Windows Updates in the last month. Don't know if that had anything to do with it, but perhaps you downloaded them and your friend didn't?
