clear not clearing, is it the margins fault? - 8/31/2007 9:37:07
i am playing around with the base for a new layout, and i have 2 floated top parts

the banner space (floated left)
the nav bar(under the banner floated right & clear left)
the rest of the page(clear both)

in firefox it looks fine, but for some reason IE appears to ignore the fact that a width is set on the containing div, and the clear: parts and float it right >.>

and the only things i can think of are some weird float negates clear thing, or the margin:auto i am using to center the page...

This is very weird behaviour - can't see why it would do it at all...

BUT if you remove the clear:both it works as per FF.

in situations like this if it works I am not going to question it, just going to carry on and pretend its normal :)
