I am trying to put two things on my website: a link thingee for people so sign up for an RSS feed, so that they will be alerted when my site is updated.
I also want to put an email subscription form for the same thing. How do I do this, beyond the totally archaic Front Page form that will have someone give me their email and then I add them to a mass mailing list and send them stuff when I add new content to the website...I want something automatic, and of course, like all REALTORS, free or cheap is good!
I need to know how to do this and I've tried hunting down info but most of what I've found is why RSS feeds are important, not really been able to find the nuts and bolts of how to do it.
Also - do I have to manually alert whatever RSS feed thing I subscribe to or join? I had signed up for an RSS feed for my blog last spring and evidently it doesn't automatically update - it says the blog was last updated 123 days ago and I've written at least 60 or 70 blogs since then!
I'm SO confused!!! I feel stupid and very very old, and slightly ADD.
