" The Diet" - 12/2/2001 23:15:35
Hi, Just getting back on-line after the Excite@Home bankruptsy shut down my Internet access... I' m confused about the references to the ASP Diet. Is there a link that explains it in more detail? What factors determine when an ASP page needs the diet? All or just certain circumstances? Thanks. Â Edited by - Spooky on 12/02/2001 23:32:00

RE: FAQ : "The Diet" - 12/2/2001 23:31:22
The "diet" is a way of reducing the reliance of the DRW on web bots. The DRW constructs asp pages that get their information from web bots which control the format, SQL and layout. The more advanced questions get asked, the DRW starts to show its weaknesses. It just cant be customised to suit some needs. So, what the "diet" does, is removes all or some of the web bot information to make the page a) faster b) more flexible. The downside is, that you can no longer use the "wizard" to adjust it. So, I recommend you get the formatting correct first, then put it on a diet. http://www.outfront.net/spooky/adv_drw_diet.htm §þððk¥ Database / DRW Q & A VP-ASP Shopping cart

Thanks! I'll certainly look into the diet aspect after I get the kinks worked out. Thanks for the fast response.
