Do you have ASP or PHP available to you?

I used formmail.php and its way easier to setup and configure. It works fine. I couldnt get formmail.pl to work after several attempts.

Matt's formmail script is no longer considered secure and is banned by many hosts - if you want to use formmail then it should be the formmail.nms version only.

Why does it need to be that secure anyway? I know lots of people that use the php version and theyve never had any experience of hacking etc. Just wondered why thats all.

It needs to be secure because if left insecure people can use your email form to bulk email spam to god knows how many people - the spam looks like it comes from you and your host has to take you offline until it's sorted out. Bulk mailers spend their time searching the internet for insecure forms to use like this. Hosts often scan their accounts and if they find an insecure form script they'll remove it for their own protection (they can get blacklisted for hosting spammers). This isn't a might-happen-one-in-a-million type thing. If you are using Jack's Formmail script then that's still considered ok far as I know - None of the Matt's FormMail scripts are considered secure anymore. I like the Formmail.nms because you can limit the amount of recipients which is important to beat the spammers. Mike Cherim's form is very secure too.

Oh i see where youre coming from now, thanks. I dont really know the formmail.pl that well to be honest. The php version (jacks scripts) you can also specify exact domains and ip addresses (referers) only plus recipent only too.
