Please Help: Question on auto-updating site content - 9/12/2007 14:24:18
I am trying to create an Intranet site using Front Page and I am running into a problem, The site contains links to various files on my server. Some of the content is patient information, the way the info is set up on the server is that there are folders for each individual person. When a new person is admitted a new folder is created on the server with various files for that individual patient. Is there any way to set up my site to automatically update and ad new links to new folders that are created on the sever when new patients are admitted, or will i have to manually and the new links as folders are created?

You could do this with code, but not with Frontpage alone.

The last solution would allow folks to see those directories and files just by typing in the proper path into the browser address bar, which doesn't sound like what you want. I use asp to build my menus using directory listings, excluding some depending on whether you are logged in and what access you have. I'd recommend you do that. Any server side technology (asp, php) would allow that and you could require login/permissions to determine what can be viewed before the page is loaded at the server.
