Oh.....I see. That might be a good idea if I can't get the linkbar issue straightened out. So then I would need to remove the No Right Click from all of my pages as it exisists? How would I code it the way that you have on your site?

You might want to consider engaging me to re-design your website, although there are lots here who are better in webdesign than me. I can do the righclick menu as a package.
Sales pitch...:)

If this doesn't work then the next step is to Recalculate the Web using the interface in FP2003 live on the server - if the host has enabled it that is. If not then the host will have to reinstall the extensions because that is the likely problem - maybe the "disable right click" has made them go bad, just like ftp-ing instead of Publishing can.

Edit: Rather quick with the sales pitch there William. :)

Like what caz mentioned in his post, it may require Re-installing the Frontpage Server Extensions. Usually your website account with your hosting company provides a control panel of sorts where you can do it yourself. If you don't have such a control panel, then you may have to open a ticket with your hosting company requesting them to re-install the server extension.

Would you like to try copying the webbot code manually into one of the boutique pages?

<!--webbot bot="Navigation" S-Orientation="horizontal" S-Rendering="graphics" S-Type="global" B-Include-Home="TRUE" B-Include-Up="TRUE" startspan --><nobr>[ Home ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="aboutus.htm" target="">About Us</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="boutique.htm" target="">Boutique</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="policies.htm" target="">Our Policies</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="favorite-links.htm" target="">Favorite Links</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="contact-us.htm" target="">Contact Us</a> ]</nobr><!--webbot bot="Navigation" i-checksum="6160" endspan -->

Kind of last resort kinda thing.

Should I stop the publishing to the TEST? It has about 45 minutes left.

The code is taken from one of your pages, now I can't remember which but it is from TEST.

Where exactly do I put this? Should I remove the existing linkbar on that particular page that I am trying out?

quote:

<!--webbot bot="Navigation" S-Orientation="horizontal" S-Rendering="graphics" S-Type="global" B-Include-Home="TRUE" B-Include-Up="TRUE" startspan --><nobr>[ Home ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="aboutus.htm" target="">About Us</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="boutique.htm" target="">Boutique</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="policies.htm" target="">Our Policies</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="favorite-links.htm" target="">Favorite Links</a> ]</nobr> <nobr>[ <a href="contact-us.htm" target="">Contact Us</a> ]</nobr><!--webbot bot="Navigation" i-checksum="6160" endspan -->

Go into one of your boutique page. Choose the HTML pane in FP. Look for the webbot code that says :
<!--webbot bot="Navigation" S-Orientation="horizontal" S-Rendering="graphics" S-Type="global" B-Include-Home="TRUE" B-Include-Up="TRUE" startspan --><!--webbot bot="Navigation" i-checksum="0" endspan -->

In its place, paste those code I got from your TEST page.

I don't think it will work though. Chances FP may change the HTML when you save the page.

Some hosts are not FP extensions savvy; ie. they may reinstall the extensions but not apply them to your site, nor recalculate the web. You might like to verify this with your host before you do any more experimenting. If the web is truly b0rked you might like to consider replacing the navigation bot with FP Included content as this method does not rely on extensions to work. You can find out more about Includes from the Frontpage tutorials on this site.

Good luck,
Carol

On the pages where your nav is not appearing this part of the bot is missing:

<!--webbot bot="Navigation" i-checksum="0" endspan -->

Try adding that to one of those missing nav pages and see if that helps.

Hi there.......

If you look at my site in test form (http://www.shabbyfufu.com/test) it is in those pages, but still no link bar at the top? So frustrating! Suggestions are welcome!

I am assuming that you mean where to find out about Includes? On the thin blue bar at the top of this page you will see "Frontpage", click on that and you will find tutorials relating to using Frontpage.

This is the one you need to learn about the use of included content.

:)

Another clue:

On the pages where the nav does not appear the i-checksum="0". (At the end of the nav bot)

On the pages were the nav does appear the checksum has a large number.

So I'm thinking that something happened when you included the nav into those pages (where the checksum is "0")

Hi William..............I decided to try something else, and so far it worked. I haven't added any product to the site today yet.......but I will later and see if the navigation gets messed up again when I make those changes. I sure hope NOT!! I went into each of the Boutique pages and in the Webot box I made those pages as Child Pages Under Home....which is the Home and Back. Before they were all linked to each other under Global, and somehow it was corrupted. So far, so good.......wish me luck! Thanks to you for spending all of that time yesterday trying to help me out, and to the other Frontpage forum members for your input as well. :):)
