Robot.txt - subsite question - 10/10/2007 16:35:17
I'm trying to rebuild my site (originally built in FP) using EW. So a simple question - If I create a subsite of my main site, it's treated as a seperate domain. So do I have to include a robot.txt file in the subsite as well as the main site for SEO purposes?

A subsite (or subweb) is not known by the search engines. They see it only as another folder - www.example.com/subweb is the same as www.example.com/subweb. If you are using subweb.example.com - then yes, another robots.txt file, but chances are the answer is no - there is no such thing as a "subsite" except in the Frontpage / Expression Web world
