Creating a Handheld Style Sheet - 10/14/2007 6:17:16
I'm creating a site that I want to be as compliant, accessible and cross-browser compatible as possible, so far so good. But I want to also make it available for those using handheld devices and am wondering at what stage I should start creating that style sheet?

I'm still ironing out other browser bugs with the initial layout and navigation and haven't added any real content yet. It will be a large site but generally past the opening page all pages will be laid out the same.

So, those of you who are already creating style sheets for handheld devices, is it best to wait until I'm finished with the whole site to create the handheld style sheet, or is it better to create it alongside everything I do.?

Well personally I do it at the end at the same time as I do the print stylesheet (ok not exactly at the same time but straight after!).

Tailslide,

Thanks!

I've been sporadically working on a site where I'd like to implement everything that I know is possible and within my capabilities and I just didn't know whether not taking handheld devices into account from the beginning was going to cause me a lot of grief later on.

I figured it might be like a Print Style Sheet, which I also create at the very end, possibly the last thing, but wasn't sure.
