From Windows (plesk) to Linux with problems - 10/25/2007 17:38:18
Because I wanted to get a SSL on my site, I was told by my host that they would only do in Linux boxes. I agreed and all is well, until I went to access my databases. here is the erroe when I attempt to go to access my database: THE FRONTPAGE DATABASE FEATURES ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ONE OF THE FOLLOWING REASONS; THE WEB SERVER ADMINISTRATOR MAY HAVE DISABLED THEM; YOUR WEB SERVER IS RUNNING AN OLD VERSION OF FRONTPAGE SERVER EXTENSIONS; OR THE OPEN DATABASE CONNECTIVITY (ODBC) COMPONENT MAY NOT BE INSTALLED ON THE WEB SERVER. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR WEB SERVE ADMINISISTRATOR FOR ASSISTANCE. Also, when I try to access ASP pages, it doesnt display the page, but only the code? From my cpanel, it shows that extensions have been installed, but dont know what the error means...Any ideas?

Linux doesn't usually support ASP pages, you have to install an additional module for it to work - something most hosts don't do. You can use SSL on a windows server, I would ask your host why they are unable to do it. Maybe they didn't completely understand what you wanted done?
