the site is very unfinished but, hopefully you'll get the idea of the direction it's heading...

The "Spyware page" button is working as is the "specials" page button. Oh, and the Home Page too!

looks a bit like a template but it looks good!

your seagull picture is way too heavy at 247.71 kB (it should be a jpeg not a png)

David, thanks for the constructive feedback. I appreciate that.

The .png --> .jpg point is well taken. I fluctuate on the issue of "accessibility". There are days when I just want to appeal to visitors who have > 1024 x 768 monitors AND a Broadband connection and days when I'm more "sensitive" to the less fortunates! I must have been having a "down on the less fortunates" moment. Thanks!

I forget why I can't manage a strict dtd - It's no doubt to do with my sloppy coding...it might be something to do with my affiliate linkings or table widths or something. I'll check and reply back. It started as strict but I forget why - maybe the "no right click" on <body> - it's an artist picture. I know nothing's sacred on the web but there are those who don't know how to be profane!

And... it is a Template - credit link in footer due to commons license!

I remember now why I can't do strict dtd..I keep kgetting hung up on Table Column Widths..!!

How do I "Fix" the Column Widths while keeping a strict dtd..?

Is it just a matter of making more classes in the css?

(Probably a misplaced question here but - am answering critique is my excuse!)

Doesn't look like a problem to me - you've got the widths in style attributes inline which is perfectly valid (although can make editing the layout harder).

The errors with your current doctype appear to be around using the name attribute which XHTML doesn't allow and possibly the unencoded ampersands in one of the links - probably fixable by removing the name attributes and adding "amp;" after the & in the url. It doesn't like the call to the context menu in the body tag - but not sure what it's doing so not sure how to fix it.

Tailslide, thanks for the feedback.

The call to the context menu is my sloppy way of preventing right click menus from activating (picture downloads specifically) when viewing the site. I should probably ditch it!

The unencoded ampersands are because I'm afraid of losing my .2c commisiions on my affiliate links tracking id's if the publishers see the id come back as - &(encoded ampersand)id=1234 - rather than - &id=1234 - maybe I should do some testing on that and see if they all work ok with the &

or, just not bother with XHTML validation - which is the quicker and easier path i've taken!

Thanks for the tip on the "name" attribute too Tailslide. I took those out and the .js scripts seem to continue to work just fine.
