The custom query contains errors. - 11/20/2007 18:07:58
Hello,
I have seen various posts on this topic. Our issue appears to be related to using Frontpage 2003 (w/sp2). Apparently Microsoft added a security enhancement which changed the way all of the queries work.

The queries (webbots) still actually work, but in Frontpage 2003 sp2 I cannot get past the "Custom Query/Verify Query" screen. Is there:

1. A newer service pack/version of Windows/Office that will allow it to work again?

2. A way to bypass the Verify query screen?

3. Some sort of utility that at least attempts to rewrite all of the query logic in the new format?
CLAUSE + (Column name + Operator + ::parameter::)

4. A way to pull a certain patch out of the service pack that would prevent this error?

5. Anything else that will get us up and running under the new Office Sp2?

Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

There is a thread on this at
http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/m-175524/tm.htm

To get past the Custom Query/Verify Screen, you may be able to do so if you put the
DRW on diet, commonly known as the Spooky Diet here:
http://www.outfront.net/spooky/adv_drw_diet.htm

If you're looking at automating the Spooky Diet, you can find the macro here:

Thanks William.
One thing I forgot to mention is these pages are actually maintained by business customers, so they will need to continue to use the database results builder technology going forward.

Does anyone have any experience with the Macro? We have around 1000 pages that will need to be updated on our site (they have the old query format). Any recommendations or further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You probably need only to apply the first 'fix' in my post as that relates to FP2003.

That may allow you to perfrom custom query/verify query.
