css image gallery - 11/22/2007 23:36:57
I found this wonderful image gallery by stu nichols http://www.stunicholls.com/gallery/photo_click.html
but I need help on how to use it. I've downloaded the zip files, but the instuctions are not simple to me.
Here is the page, I'd like to use it on.

I've tried to install what I could, but not having much luck.
Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial or help on this?

Edit: I know you want to get the problem solved but it's not a good idea to post problems at the same time across multiple forums. It means that people might well spend time trying to help you with an issue that you've already solved. I'd suggest that posting in one forum and leaving it for a little while to see if you get a response it a more polite way of doing it.
Looks like you need to add the javascript link into the document head as per Stu's example:
<script src="photo_click/click_gallery.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
Make sure you've got the correct path (e.g that in this case it's in a folder called photo_click or whatever you've called it). Then ensure that there are actually images there to be called by the gallery and see how you go. Come back if you have any further trouble.

I've added the javascript code to the head, but it is still not working. You mentioned the correct path. I have the images in the correct folder that I normally had them in, called mascotmolds/mold1a.jpg (thumbnail)
My large picture is mold1b.jpg
I downloaded the click_gallery.js file and the photo_click.css file.
Also there is a box with a scroll bar that shouldn't be in there or at least not in stu'd expample. I'm in a mess here.
Can you look at my code to see the problem. Also, I use another css external file for my side menu. will that interfere with the additional css file that I inserted?

Your default image doesn't look like it's where it says it is plus you need to add this to the body tag:
onload="clickMenu('gallery')"
like this:
<body onload="clickMenu('gallery')">

Hi,
I've added that bit of code to my site, but not sure exactly where. From what I see is only the large picture of the first image. I added that image to the bottom, but where does the other large images go. Boy I think I'm going backwards here, but please don't give up on me. I really do want to learn how to do this.

I'm getting some script errors on line 2 (invalid character) and 16 i)(object expected)

I see it in my preview in front page. What could be causing this?
Is there a way to reverse the larger image? Putting it on the right side. I'm am totally scared to make one change to this.

As far as image sizes, is that determined in the photo_click.css file?
I see I've got image sizes in my code on my page, but they are way smaller than what I've got them set at. I tried making some changes in the css file, but totally messed the page up, so not sure what to work on. If I want to make the thumbnail images a bit larger, it seems to put them in a straight line and not in the box they are in which I like.
How do I make that little scroll bar box a bit bigger to handle larger thumbnail images.
Also if I want the larger image to appear larger, where do I make that change. I just see so many numbers in the css page I can't figure it out.
