Vince's Menu HELP - 6/25/2001 20:25:00
Help please, this menu is my first attempt at inserting/altering code..
Problem 1, the menu isn't visible in page view, only the title.
Problem 2, defining the names. I've defined the main menu names but when I look at preview I get a message saying "no menu named Frontpage has been defined" and then it said the same for Dreamweaver. This was followed by an error message on line 6...
I'm totally confused. Do I need to go ahead and define all the submenus before I can view anything? also whats the best way to create the link to the appropriate file, for that menu item?
I thought I understood what I was doing with this....I'd appreciate any help you can give on this
Thanks Ginny

Hi Ginny,

To see the menu you'll need to use the "preview in browser" function.
I imagine your problem with the undefined menu is something quite small like a spelling change or whatever - go through the definitions carefully to make sure they match up. Post again if you have any problems.

Cheers
Andy

hi Andy, it's when I try to preview in the browser that the error messagw comes up. Prior to changing the menu names, I could see the basic menu in preview but not in page view which was difficult because I wanted to reposition the table visually. Now its gone completely from any view!
Also how do you link to the apropriate files from the sub menu?

Hi Ginny,

It's going to be difficult to solve the problem without seeing the code you have as there are 3 or 4 variables that could be causing the error. Two options I think:
1. Post an URL and we'll take a look -or
2. Work from the original menu again - previewing after each change you make to start with til you get the hang of what does what.

Cheers
