Centering site when viewed other than 1024x768 - 12/2/2007 14:17:15
One small issue that I hope is an easy adjustment... The page size that my site is built on is 1024x768 and it fills the screen when viewed with a "traditional" 19" non wide-screen display. I see that many websites are obviously based around this same size but when viewed on a wide-screen display are centered with blank sides on both left and right. The issue is that MY site..... www.supermotoonline.com when viewed on a "wide-screen" is oriented to the left side of the page and has the blank page all on the right side.
My Question is.....is there a command or setting that adjusts so that pages display "centered" as opposed to a default of "left side"??? Any help would be fantastic! Thanx much in advance.

Was this a template?

It's been set up using Divs for layout but all the Divs are fixed in position and fixed width.

[code][style="position: absolute; width: 976px; height: 151px; z-index: 1; left: 23px; top: 2px; border: 4px outset #/code]

To make it fluid you need to use %age sizes not pixels.

It would be a reasonable (not easy) change if the CSS was in an external file rather than inline. As it's inline you'll have to go through and change every single bit of code.

It might be easier to start from scratch.

Not in your case my friend. All your divs/layers are positioned "absolute". That means they are fixed on the screen. Whatever resolution you are on.

Center a Website in FrontPage. But when you are using elements that are positioned absolutely, you are pretty much unable to do anything else to them
