Not all files in queue ftp - 12/6/2007 12:58:18
Hello, I'm trying to publish a FrontPage 2000 webpage using an ftp client and not having any luck. One of the files never seems to make it through the transfer and it is left in the queue, even after the status shows the ftp is complete. All other files seem to ftp just fine. When I go to the domain name, there isn't anything there. Could it be the file that is stuck in the queue that is causing the problem? Do you know what I can do about this? Thanks

Not sure why you are FTP'ing when you have FrontPage 2000. Is it because your host does not have FP extensions installed? What is the extension of the file that is not FTP'ing? Does it have spaces in the filename?

Hello Don, Thank you for your reply to my post. This seems to not be my day as I am also having trouble publishing from FrontPage, which is why I'm trying to ftp. The FrontPage extensions are enabled. My host's support person told me ftp should work with or without the extensions enabled. This is the page that is not ftp'g: C:\documents\naturalremedies\natural_mood_html\natural_mood_html\_vti_cnf\ I don't see any spaces in the file name. What has me wondering is that the local folder lists one set of files on the ftp client which includes natural_mood_html and I need to double click on that file to get to another set of files which also has a file of that same exact name. I have to then double click on that file in order to get to the list of files that include index.htm before I can ftp. Since the file that doesn't transfer also has natural_mood_html in it twice, I can't help but think this has something to do with the problem. This is the same way the files are set up in FrontPage. I should probably also mention that I just initiated a transfer of the domain to a new host two days ago. This was not a registration transfer, but just a transfer to a new host. It should only take two days to propogate or, in rare instances, three days, according to my original host. The support person at my new host checked told me I should be able to ftp to the domain. My concern is that I can't really tell if my problem is with the file or that the domain has not really finished propogating. I use the same ftp client for another webpage made using FrontPage 2000 on a different domain and do not have trouble with it. Thank you again for your help. Gail
