Top button bar - 12/5/2001 10:20:26
Can anyone advise me on how to create a top frame as the one seen at this website: www.greystoneenergy.com I have created the top portion using some graphics and text in PhotoImpact. I'm not sure how to proceed with the button bar located underneath. If I purchased a pull down menu system, would these buttons be created for me? Any suggestions on where to purchase a button bar as this. The site I am working on is going to have the Miva Merchant shopping cart implemented so any suggestions concerning that would be helpful. Thanks, Tracy

tracydel I didn't see any "frames" on the link you posted. This page is basically just a large graphic file in a table cel. The buttons are just "hotspots" on that graphic. To do something similar, build your entire graphic including text and buttons as it appears on the linked page. Then in FP place the miage on the page, click on it, and select the hotspot button in the graphics tools in Frontpage. You can put a rectangle around the buttons in the graphic and tell FP where to link them when they are clicked.

Tracydel Sorry, I didnt go far enough into the site to see the dropdown menu! they used a free javascript to put this puppy together. If you View - Source you can see the web address that it was downloaded from. I recommend using one of Vinces menus, they are far easier to modify than these types of freebees. Well worth the modest price! Vinces menu's only use colored text and table cels instead of a graphic for the buttons... though it can probably be tweeked to use graphics if you so desire. If you place the header graphic into a table cel, with Vinces menu in the cel directly below it, make the table props with 0 padding, 0 spacing etc, and change the colors in the table cels and the menu to match your graphic, you should get the same kind of look. You can ignore my last post... Bobby
