steveg -> Cannot Upload files to the Site - Server Settings? (12/12/2007 9:34:19)

This may look like a long, drawn out problem but I really could do with some help here. So if you can stick with it to the end that would be appreciated. We have some webspace with a company called Network Solutions. We have been using the space without any problems for a couple of years. We regularly upload files to the site. I have implemented the FrontPage Upload facility and every month our staff upload client reports to the website. On a weekly basis I upload a couple of databases to the site, one of which is 50mb in size. I last uploaded this file on Sunday without any problems. On Tuesday, our staff tried to upload their client reports and the system seemed to time them out. The result was the upload hung and the file was not uploaded. I then tried to import the files into FrontPage using the Import facility. The first file name shows up in the status bar, hangs for a while and the system then responds with a message "could not find a web server on port 80 frontpage". I tried a standalone ftp package to upload the files and this times out while trying to refresh the site. I went into the Network Solutions Control Panel and they have 3 separate utilities. An FTP utility which hung on upload, an FTP File Publisher which uploaded 2 files and then hung and a file manager which allowed 3 separate files to be uploaded and then hung. All 5 routes for uploading seem to end with the same result. Also our website www.4dpharmacy.com is sporadic in appearing. Sometimes it appears immediately, other times it needs 4 or 5 re-submits to get the site to appear in the browser. All of the above was tried from our location in the USA and our location in the UK. We have different ISP's and different firewalls. I contacted Technical Support at Network solutions. They tried and succeeded in uploading a 15kb file. They then tried and succeeded in uploading a 1.6mb file. Therefore they conclude there is not a problem. If they cannot replicate our problem they will not acknowledge it. They say it must be an ISP or firewall issue. I tried to upload a 15kb file and was successful but unsuccessful with anything bigger. In my naive mind if we are having the same problem from two separate locations with two different methods of connecting then the problem must lay within the site? If I can open the websuite with frontPage and move files around and create folders but cannot upload files bigger than 15kb it would seem to indicate some kind of time out on the server. I am getting no help from Network Solutions and I have client who need their financial reports like yesterday!! Does anybody have any thoughts or experience in this area? Thanks Steve
