What do you think about my new site? - 12/5/2001 12:02:08
I just redid my web site for the first time in several years. I'm also consolidating several web sites into this one. I did it all in FrontPage and would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Here's the URL: http://www.BrightPath.com/ Thanks. - Bill

Hi Bill, I liked your site - smart and well presented. Couple of things I'd comment on - I'd open your links on the right in a new window or take them off the homepage, shame to send people off somewhere else once they've hit your site - the other thing is the book cover below the menu - looks a bit clumsy there, I'd put a text review or something that was clickable, like a news section. Best of luck with it Cheers Andy Internet Business Solutions S.L.

Thanks, Andy. I don't mind the external links since it's still all my stuff...the links to http://vu.iiaa.net go to a Virtual University I'm building. At some point, I'll move my proprietary content from there to my personal web site. Thanks for the thought about the book cover...I'll look into making some changes there when I get a chance. Might just eliminate it...I self-published the book the first time, but would like a "real" publisher. Just can't find one, so I've got it all on the web site. - Bill

Hi Bill, Apart from being a complete spitting image of my Dad (even had to email a link to my sister so she could see!), everything here looks well. Only thing I'm not fussed on, is having to read lots of text. I know you're a writer, but I think people surfing the web are a little lazy, and prefer to stare at pretty pictures than read loads of text (may be speaking for myself here!) Just an idea, but how about using a database to store your authors information. This would mean less pages, and easier access to information via a search form. Frontpage has all of the database functionality that you'll need for this. Apart from that, I think it all looks good! Mark Edited by - markjlawrence on 12/09/2001 10:07:03

Mark...the database suggestion is right on. Only problem is I don't know how to do it. :( With regard to me looking like your dad...you young whippersnapper! - Bill

Bill, I'm impressed. Things look very good and give a nice first impression. But I know you're looking for some pointers, so I'll mention that you need to add meta keywords and a meta description to your source code. http://www.deawebdesigns.com

Dea...you're right, of course. I've been holding off until I get things to a point where I really want a lot of traffic. Thanks for the feedback!
