I need to recreate this logo - does anybody recognise the font that has been used?

have you tried http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ you might have to isolate a cfew of the letters and try

It's not a font, it's handdrawn. You can instantly see it from the badly drawn M and the P that doesn't stand on the baseline.

THE ... GROUP is of course Arial.

A nearest match would still be useful though - I can't find anything with a similarly shaped 'M'.

Hmm. I think you can't ”recreate” a logo to a near match. You either have to vectorize the original or redesign it completely. Otherwise you're messing around with their visually branded image (no matter how weak it is) and that's just bad business.

But if you really want to do that, grab Vag Rounded and use that. Switch the sloppy Arial to something like Helvetica or Franklin Gothic. Fix the awful kerning of the logotype. Replace the childish M!

And do it better than they did. [:D]
