Scotty -> Setting up "Intranet" site (12/16/2007 23:03:39)

I'm trying to set up a copy of our web site (remotely hosted), on our 2003 server...this will allow faster in-house access as we have satellite internet.
It's assigned the 'W' drive with an internal IP number and the index page, java script menu, images and pics were a simple drag n drop from where I store the working files on the server 'T' to 'W'.
However, when I open Firefox I can open the in-house web index page, but none of the others...it tries to open the hosted version of the page.
Do I need to rename all of the page links from www.mydomain.com/page2 etc. to Http://internal Ip address/page2?...same with the javascript? That's a LOT of changes if so.
Regards, Scotty

If you're using FrontPage, publish the web Instead of copying) up to the internal host. That should clear up all those external links unless you'ved used Absolute links. If that's the case, you may need to do a global Search-n-Replace.

Hope one of those help.

Would ftp work the same or is 'publish' better?
I didn't see how to publish just a couple of test pages plus it wanted to setup some FP specific info in the file and wasn't sure I'd need that as I don't use any FP components.

FTP is not the same as publish.

If you don't want to publish it, try using the Replace and use "All Pages" to change those links.

Hope it helps.
