dbguide -> V2.0 -- I like it ruff (12/18/2007 4:50:26)

Based on some of your lovely comments I have a new build for: www.diamond-buyer-guide.com (site is 85% complete)

** note text resizing on web browsers was unfortunately not factored in and the site is still not using CSS layout (I am just praying no one increases the font size *cross fingers*), basically I am still figuring out a good CSS layout and trying to figure out how I can plug it in without changing more than 200 pages manually)

please compare to old build: http://www.diamond-buyer-guide.com/old/index_old1.htm

thanks to all who post

Ummmm hate to say this but I prefer the first one. This one is all text.

d a v e -> RE: V2.0 -- I like it ruff (12/19/2007 5:13:32)

first one was definitely better.

and just crossing your fingers and hoping that no-one will resize the text isn't wise. With millions of web users worldwide there's bound to be at least some that need the text larger, and if all they get's a garbled mess theyre not likely to come back again.

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right, and a CSS layout isn't a matter of just plugging it in and away you go I'm afraid. You need to think about layout and CSS from the beginning, not at the 11th hour when it's all over barr the shouting.

I've checked a few pages and they re-size OK.

I see you moved the pretty girl to the left. Well, that is good but I still have to scroll to see your text on the right. Maybe your clients/viewers have all upgraded to higher res flat screens, but my clients still have lots of old tube monitors set at 800 res.

yeah, I guess it is a bias ... dont kill me ... but umm if you cant afford a larger monitor to help out your eyes then its probably not a good idea to learn about buying diamonds

its a money thing yo! [:D]

yeah its a pretty crazy thing to say huh ... oh well I guess I have moved on with this site ... hopefully I learned my lesson (i dont know how to spell that) ... never start a large static site without creating a css scheme first [:-]

honestly I really didnt have a font/background/class layout scheme in mind i just made it up as I went along ... sigh ... and I hate making css schemes ... maybe I can hire you to make one up for me on my next site? [:)]

I am waiting on some investment money and a manufacturer sample production on a lingerie startup ... hopefully it will be as or more successful than my herbal mlm ... check it out for your discreet herbal health needs ... www.trachealth.com (shameless plug)

I suppose so, in the UK we would call it an "Ass Biscuit". [;)]

i hope no donkeys were harmed in the making of it :)

Only recycled, ethically farmed, organic, free-range Donkeys with negative carbon footprints. Or carbon hoofprints.

In the UK we take this sort of thing seriously you know.
