BBC Radio 4 page - very odd! - 12/20/2007 5:03:22
I have here a PC just freshly installed (Win XP home) - all works fine except one thing...

If I go to the BBC website and follow links to any page they all load perfectly except the Radio 4 page: bbc.co.uk/radio4/

Sometimes the page part loads and freezes, sometimes it just constantly refreshes (or just flickers in the browser), other times the page will load normally!

The same symptoms exist in IE7 & FX.

Is there something on this page that is somehow 'different' and could be causing this problem?

HA! Caught you! A closet Archers fan. :)

Christmas is coming. Ask Santa to bring you a nice new Digital Radio. :)

I don't think it's you. I just tried and I can't get the Radio 4 page to load at all.

You sad sad people!! I much prefer the easy listening of Radio 2 :)

It's loading for me (camino).

Maybe it's something to do with the BBC's new beta site - maybe it's messing up some of their old pages.

No no - you've got it all wrong Jaybee - not me - the PC has been reset for a customer and strangely enough one of their biggest woes was not being able to listen to The Archers!

Thanks also to Tailside for checking - I also checked the page in 3 other PCs and it worked fine in all of them but seeing that Jaybee has the problem too it must be some mysterious thing (?) - perhaps the BETA theory is the cause (?)

Can anyone else confirm?

P.S. Santa bought me a DAB radio last year and their grreeaat!:)

Loads fine for me on Fx & W2K.

Nothing wrong with being an Archers fan, Rick P has gone up in my estimation.

What is the Archers?
Only Britains longest running and best soap opera. (An everday story of country folk)

There is no need to be ashamed, come out as an Archers Fan, we are the majority. ( I even have Linda Snell's book on Ambridge). My favourite character is Joe Grundy.

Sadly Walter died several years ago and his son "Nelson" (The confused one) sold up his wine bar and moved out a couple of years later.

The duties of the "Comedy Yokel with an amusing voice" in the program are now shared between Joe Grundy and Bert Fry.

I will always remember the way WG used to greet Dan Archer as "me old pal, me old beauty". Priceless.
