Getting forms to work with ASP pages - 12/21/2007 6:21:09
I am trying to create a very simple form page which I have done many times in FP. In Expression Web it doesn't work. If I save the page as HTM it works fine but if I save the page as ASP it does nothing. It gives no errors or nothing. I am a novice so pls excuse question if the answer is simple. I need ASP because I use SPOOKY LOGIN and other ASP related code. Can anyone help?

How do you know if there is a problem? Are you testing the pages on a server?

If your page is working fine with an HTM extension, changing it to ASP should have no effect at all on how it works (well, unless your server doesn't support ASP!). Or are you changing multiple pages from HTM to ASP, and maybe forgetting to change where the form is getting posted to? If you can show us the code it might be a bit easier for one of us to assist.

I do all my work live on server... If I use the HTM extension I get the email, I get database updated and I get the success page... If I use ASP extension.. the form just accepts the data but does nothing with it.. I know ASP works because all pages are ASP and I use SPOOKY LOGIN and it works perfectly. I use ASP in other spots as well... This is a mild ADULT SITE.. but here is page http://www.hypnofantasy.com/secret_soul.asp

If you server supports the JMail component, check out Processing the Form with the JMail EMail Component. If you are using ASP, you will need to post the code for someone to review since we will be unable to see the ASP source code and only the processed ASP code.
