CS3 is the new version but if I were you I would become comfortable with alot of the features on MX and when you feel you've maxed it out then think about the upgrade. Just my 2 cents. You can't keep changing software every time you can't get something to work. It's not the software's fault. You don't understand what you're doing with it.
