Layers are locked together - 1/5/2008 18:17:45
I am having a problem with layers in FP2003. Layers appear to be stacked if I look in the layer properties. Problem is that if I want to delete one of the layers, it deletes all the layers that are connected. How does this happen that the layers collate, is it because the layers touch each other in design mode??? How do I disconnect the layers......moving one moves all the connected layers as well.

Best regards,

Arne

Arne,

When I first started designing my site I had the same issues. What was happening - When I went to 'Add a Layer' the cursor was inside another layer (as opposed to on the main page) so I kept creating layers inside of layers. So make sure the cursor is on the main page when you add new layers. That solved my issues.

Hope this helps.

~Matt~

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your help, sound logical!

I mind the position of the cursor now and indeed the problem is gone.

Best regards,

Arne
