Do not use text boxes.

You are already using tables for layout so put the text in a table cell. Text boxes are meant for printed stuff, on the web IE 6 and earlier versions used to render them OK but the other browsers didn't. IE7 is more compliant and doesn't like them.

You are using Comic Sans as the font in the boxes and Arial elsewhere. There is no real alternative to CS on a Mac so the text becomes unreadable. Stick to Arial for the entire site. Any font you use on a site has to be on your visitor's machine as well or the browser defaults to what is, and results can be a mess.

I looked at the code and both fonts are specified in there. As to what I see, anything in a text box is a smudgy blac mess where I can just about make out words if I work hard at it. The rest of the page is readable but I do have comic sans on this machine.

I'm still trying to figure out why so many beginners use that font. It's for kiddies, the letter style is the same as little ones are taught to do their first writing and reading.

I wrote a blog on web beginner pet hates. You might find it of use.

Thanks for the help.... I will be getting rid of the boxes ASAP!!! I think people use Comic Sans because they like it. No kidding :)

Yes, unfortunately Comic Sans seems to be a favourite. No accounting for taste :)

Same here - the text boxes are very smudgy, but the rest of the text seems to be in Arial. That could be because I've got my default font on my browser set as Arial.

You've got some lovely beads by the way!

and a bit more contrast on your header pic to make the beads look more like they're made of glass rather than plastic would be good ;) like in this quick example
