Where should I put meta data such as keywords and description in Dreamweaver DWT? In between the head tags is greyed out.

make an editable region in your dwt
something like

<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="metainfo" -->
<meta name="keywords" content="keywords " />
<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

I did that but it puts it below the </head> tag in the pages that it is applied to. In the DWT it is in between the head tags but on the applied pages it is not.

er, not sure then - it works for me! does it ask you to update the pages when you save the dwt?

Yes, I did update the pages, close them, and then reopen.

Here is the code the new page but within the template:

<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="MetaTags" --><meta name="keywords" content="Pete Maravich, Homework Basketball DVDs, Pistol Pete, Birth of a Legend, Game Footage, Highlights"><meta name="description" content="Pistol Pete Maravich instructional basketball dvds, homework basketball, and game footage dvds. Birth of a Legend is a story about Pete Maravich when he was young.">

<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

Now that looks like to me it is in an editable region but the message always comes up anyway. What am I going wrong?

after you've added that to the dwt you will need to say OK to update the pages based on that tempate, then after they are all updated you can open a page and alter the meta info
