permissions - 12/6/2001 14:02:36
Same prob I want to protect some of my pages with a user name and password. The tools/permission bar is always greyed out! How the hell do I create a subweb so I can protect my pages?

If you are NT/IIS hosted you can't use permissions unless you have Admin access to the server.

Your hosting company will have to set the permissions for you. Have a look here...

I have tried to open my web from open/open web. Typed in my url and folder ie www.mydomain.com/public_html it shows all the folders but not the actual web pages I want to protect. Arghhhhhhhhhh

The procedure for protecting folders on the server can vary by host. If your permissions option is greyed out then you probably have to do it a different way. Like me. The procedure for doing this is probably in the help section of the website of the company that holds your domain
