Include pages not updating - 1/21/2008 17:51:21
I know that Include pages are a FP item. However my current website has them until I can redo the site. Here is my problem. 1. I use include pages for my left side menu. It calls a page with all the links for the site. I used to update the actual page and it would then be reflected whenever the page was included. 2. In EW, I open the actual page that is included (the menu page) and make changes. It is no longer updating all the pages on the site as it did previously. 3. With EW open, I can open any page that contains the include and it will then show the change that I did on the menu page but will not update all the pages automatically on the internet. I know this is all confusing. Any help out there. I don't want to take the time right now to redesign this site just becuase my server dropped FP extensions. ANy help would be appreciated. Mark

Frontpage Includes are ran by Frontpage (and Expression Web) - not FPSE. The includes are handled by Expression Web / Frontpage - so saying this, you should see the include when you open the page in Expression Web Working with Frontpage Includes You can try Site - Recalculate Hyperlinks to see if that alleviates the problem. You should see something like <!--webbot bot="Include" U-Include="header.html" TAG="BODY" --> in the source code. And header.html should have a <html>, <head>, and <body> element as well.
