Expression Web Dropdown List to Access DB Challenges - 1/23/2008 17:48:54
Hello,
I’m in the process of creating an Expression Web application. The last remaining challenge for a form that I’m creating is the format in which it saves to the Access database.
I choose an “Agency” from the dropdown which comes from an Access table. I then want that table to post its results to my primary table called “Personnel”.
(see item "1" on the picture)
The problem is that when everything is entered and “Insert” is clicked, I receive the following in the DB.
(see item "2" on the picture)
As you can see from above, the “Agency” columb shows the # “1” rather than “Fort Collins PD”
(see item "3" on the picture)
Here is a snip from the “Agency” table where the data is coming from.
I've purchased four books which have been very helpful but none have spent very much time if any on the subject. Hint hint:)
Thanks for your help!
Frank

Hi Dan,

Its hard to tell. If you look at my picture, the web page starts with "Loveland PD" but the DB table starts w/ "Fort Collins PD".

Here are some more settings:

Under Databindings for the dropdown list, I have
*SelectIndex
*Field Bindings - Agency (field) in my Personnel table
*No formatting
*Using Two-way databinding

Here is a picture of my MS Access settings.

Thanks!
