When your clients need https (an SSL Certificate), where/how do you get them?

If you could make the process easier, what would you do?

From Comodo. They have a really good reseller plan. If you need a contact, let me know. They have an API that you can embed into your website and the certs can be bought from your site.

They will still do the verification unless you sign up as a "webhost reseller". This allows you to verify and issue the cert

I already have a source for SSL Certs, but thanks :)

I mainly want to know what most web designers do for their SSL certs.

Gotcha. Comodo has a good reseller program and GeoTrust some interesting reseller options as well. I usually see both at the HostingCon every year

The one I'm using right now goes through GeoTrust. Customer receives link to configure the SSL cert from the GeoTrust website, and then at the end of the order, receives another link that can be sent to a web host - this contains all of the information needed to handle an SSL cert install (CSR and cert itself)

I'm just not sure what most people are doing for SSL certs. Maybe they just buy directly from their hosting company?

I think that is what a lot of them are doing. I know GeoTrust gives a discount for certs bought in bulk, but not too many buy them that way.

We get ours from our web hosting/site programming company and they use starfield. I hope this is of help.

I've only needed a few. I've gone through the different sites host recommended because it seems to have been easier for me.
