WSS 2.0 Form Validation Error - 1/25/2008 10:28:23
We are currently running WSS 2.0 (standalone) in production. We recently
starting getting errors when uploading or attaching any files over approx.
60KB. The error message is "Form Validation Error: Please correct the
information you provided by following these steps, then submit the
information again: Cannot open file "<name of file>". This occurs using
both the Browse button or the Upload Multiple Files option. We have checked
Central Admin and the max file size upload limit is correctly set to 50MB,
and we also checked to make sure we have Service Packs 1 and 2, as well as KB
articles 289318 and 841876 with no success. If anyone has any suggestions,
it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

my first question would be - how long are the file path names because there is a limit that WSS will accept (im not certain exactly what that limit is but 128 characters comes to mind)
next i would ask if you are having problems loading anything else to the server?
if so, what?
if the answer is "yes" and "everything" then,
who is running the server - is it internal or a host?
if internal try re-installing WSS, if it is a host, contact the webmaster and see if they have sharepoint services still installed
if none of this is helpful, sorry.
