veewee20 -> Dynamic HTML Question - mouse roll over effects w/images (1/31/2008 15:32:33)

I am trying to edit my website which has an array of products. Right now each product has its own page that opens when you click on the icon of the product. I want to set up a grid of icons on one page of all the products, that has a large preview which changes as the mouse rolls over each icon.

I would also like product details (text) and my -add to cart- buttons to update with every preview.

Hope that makes sense, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a self taught Frontpage user

Thank you!

I have tried several of the code formats listed on your link, none of which are working.

Are these specifically for MS Frontpage?

I believe the directions are choppy and don't include all of the necessary steps to have a fully functional mouseover thumbnail viewer.

Please help if you can.

Thanks

Nick

Nick,

Although I haven't tried it, FrontPage 2003 has built-in image swap capability which is activated by the Behavior command..

With your page open, >>Format >>Behaviors >> Insert >> Swap Image. The Swap Images screen will list all page images including your product icons. Hilite the one to swap-out, then browse for the Preload swap image (can be elsewhere in FrontPage, but if it is on your hard drive, move it (them) to FrontPage first).

See how this works on a "scratch" page before working on good files. May work in browser preview after save but probably needs to be published first.

Good luck & Welcome to OutFront [&:]

Larry,

Thanks for getting back with me. I am currently using MS Frontpage 2002. I don't see any swapping options.

Do you have any other suggestions?

I've had good luck with J-Bots Components. Drop $25.99 and get 46 separate web site functions for FrontPage including "Mouse Over Style".

J-Bots calls-up from the Insert command in FrontPage.
