Form results posted on internet. Why??? - 1/31/2008 17:29:11
I am creating forms for several websites. These are simple information forms--nothing too detailed. I created them in Front Page and uploaded from Front Page. One form came out perfectly and the results were e-mailed without issue just like I wanted. On all the other forms, which are hosted on another server, the results are e-mailed to me but also are showing up on line on the form page after they are submitted. I'm not doing anything differently than I did with the first form. The forms that are having this issue are all hosted by the same company. Front Page Extensions are on. Can anyone PLEASE tell me why this is happening. P.S.-I'm not a programmer, be gentle. Thanks!

Here is an example. http://www.plannedpethood.org/Cat%20Adoption%20Form.htm If you go to the bottom of the page, you can see the numbers. I just filled in one of the fields with the name Simon so that you can see. This is only happening on one server. The server, olm.net says that they don't know why it is happening either. I am a self taught Front Page user and I'm just not sure where to go from here. Any advice from the group would be appreciated :)

The Reply Form hasn't been constructed properly. The field identifiers are shown separately at the bottom of the form **, not associated, as they should be, with the fields themselves. Thank you for your feedback. I have revised the form and have assigned each field identifier with a name as I believe it should be now. One or two may still be not right, but I'll get back to that soon so they are all fixed. Thanks for your help on this matter. I do have another question if you could be so kind. I checked the form and the reply form is inside the dotted line "box", including the submit reset boxes, so everything is inside the dotted line box. I republished the page. The results are being e-mailed to me, but they also continue to still print at the very bottom of the form. I have been through everything I can get my hands on, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Can you further explain after viewing again? I really want to learn this and I am very much a novice so if you can explain in detail (for dummies) I would appreciate it. Thank you!

Make a scratch copy of your page, go to code view and delete the extraneous field identifiers, publish then test. Also, rename your Form page eliminating any uppercase letters/spaces and republish. It's now shown as: http://www.plannedpethood.org/Cat%20Adoption%20Form.htm . Should be: http://www.plannedpethood.org/cat-adoption-form.htm. This could be contributing to problems in the process of being handled by different servers/browsers.

Well it's me again. First off, thank you for all this information. I believe I have accomplished everything you wanted me to try. Unfortunately, it still continues to post the reply information at the bottom of the form on the internet. If you have time, would you mind peeking at this again and letting me know what at this point I should try next? I just filled out part of the form and got a confirmation page as expected. I went back to the form and didn't see my information at the bottom

In your form you are telling it to save the results to the same page with most recent info at the top: .... U-File="cat-adoption-form.htm" ...... You need to create a page where you want the results to be saved and substitute it for: cat-adoption-form.htm Anyway, I think that will fix it.
