Want to start business - 2/1/2008 18:20:15
Hello,
I have a couple questions. I am intrested in starting a Webpage design business. i have created a few websites for small business's already. I am working on making my own gif files and animated pic's using adobie. Also I have a webpage maker softwear, can I use that to start a small webdesign business? I was also wondering how I can design webpages and then host them? I read somewhere on this forum that I would have buy a T1 line from the phone company, 2 servers, ect. I can't afford doing all that stuff, i just want to do this on the side. Is there a way to design the site and then use someone elses hosting service? I would like a little help thank you so much

Welcome to OF medic, this question was asked here recently by someone else so have a look at this:

You don't have to host sites yourself at all. There are many commercial hosts out there only too willing to get your business - that's how many of us work.

And don't rely on any sort of automated web design software or WYSIWYG.
If you're going to do this properly, as a profession then learn the code. There's far too many "professional" website designers out there producing shoddy sites full of ancient table-ridden or poorly generated code and that only work in IE at certain screen widths on a Tuesday between 2 and 4pm!!

Hi and Welcome to OutFront. Don't spend too much time doing that. Unless you can do an exceptional job with that, try Flash or leave 'em alone. IMO, there's nothing more 'unprofessional' than poorly done animation.
