Hey guys!! Just found a very good tool - Video to Flash...

You can convert Video AVI, ASF, WMV, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG files to Flash SWF and FLV easily and quickly! You will have full control over the converting process: choose video and audio quality, framerate, resolution, duration.

Well, share it, but you won't because that program costs about $100.00 US.

There are others that do the same for free.

Another good prog is VisiFly..
It also isn't free, but costs not expensive...

Caz, have you used that service? Do you get a better conversion than Youtube?

They have a max file size of 150Mb but that should be OK for most vids.

I haven't used that service but I know others who have and they were happy with it. What I have used is SUPER to generate a Flash slide show from wmv files and for someone who hadn't a clue about all this it worked very well. [:D]
It's free too.

I use SUPER also but it doesn't generate the controls for the movie if you want to put it on a clients website for streaming. By controls, I mean the start and stop and volume slider.

NIGEL, a frequent poster here, once said he would help me with that part but it hasn't happened yet.

You can use a player such as Flowplayer on the site to give you configurable controls.

If you just want to convert the media files search for "ffmpeg". I am using the 'command line version' which is pretty good and reliable. No fancy interfaces, just plain dirty and quick.

If you just want to put a clip in the page <embed> should do.

I just downloaded and had a look at the flowplayer a few days ago. Looks good but there sure is a few things you NEED to know. It's not a program you download and install and all is fine.

I am actually playing and trying things with streaming stuff right now. Just to learn how everything works together..... here
