Hacked: What to do? - 2/9/2008 13:51:16
My website has been hacked and I don't know what to do to fix it...I re-published all of the pages were hacked, but it didn't fix the problem.

What can I do? How do I fix the problem? How do I prevent it from happening again?

thanks.

I'm no expert on this but I think it depends on how they got in and what they've done - can you give us more details?

You can see what they've done at www.preownedweddingdressesDOTcom

try to click on any dress - it says "hacked by yaser" and you can't see the pictures.

thanks for your help.

First thing you should do is contact your host and let them know. Also, ask them why uploading the site doesn't resolve the problem. I'm sure they will know why and how to remedy it.

Your database is messed up. Try to restore it from the last saved and working data file.

(Just in case others have the same problem.)

Also a lot of time the hackers will put in a lot of default "home" pages, like index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html, index.asp, default.asp, etc. Make sure that all of these are deleted as well.
