malky800 -> Spry Validation (2/11/2008 14:32:18)

Has anyone had experience using Dreamweaver to automatically put in Spry widgets into a form for validation?
I am using it for a form that's a whole page long. After the person hits submit, my page stays focused on the bottom of the form, and just stops. (really the fields on top, not turned red and hint what is missing and needs to be validated.)
Is there something I can change in the spry coding to refocus your cursor into the field space that needs fixing? or can I put a text message next to the submit button, "you are missing information in certain fields"?

Did you ever get this worked out? I've used the spry validation several times with no issues.

Regards!

When I hit submit in my form, the required fields turn red and my form does not submit. How can I make a pop up show up if it doesn't submit and say, "Please check the required fields".

Using the Spry widget your not going to have a pop up. Your going to have text in red next the field. You can change what the text says in diffrent states by using the properties panel.

1.Delete normal text field and add spry field in its place.

Perhaps you might know how to fix this error.
When I run the form it all works just fine. I just have that little error button showing on the bottom of my internet explorer screen.
It tells me "this.input.value" is null or not an object.
It's pointing to a line that's not on my page, so I'm assuming it's coming from my SpryAsset files.
I regenerated the files and put them back up, but I still have that error.
Any ideas?

make sure all of your fields are named properly and have a relationship with wherever your posting it.
