Hi everyone,

I've done a couple of simple webs using Frontpage and can do the basic stuff.

What I want to do now is, on one picture have a number of hot spots that when you mouse-over them a text box will appear with a description or another picture, does anyone know if that's possible on Frontpage and if so what to look it up in the help?

Many thanks in advance.
Andy.

Hi.

I was looking for the same thing and found this site http://www.loudexpressions.com/2007/10/creating-a-hotspot-in-frontpage

It sais:

Once you have the image in your web page, right click near the tool bars to bring up the dropdown and choose the Pictures toolbar. Now if you highlight your image you will see that you are able to choose the Rectangular Hotspot. Go to your image, draw a rectangle over the image you wish to direct users to. When you lift up on the left mouse cursor, a hyperlink dialog box will appear. Locate the page that you wish to associate with that hotspot. And then repeat as necessary.

Hope it helps you out.

Thanks Q66,

I can already do that, took me a little while to figure it out, but what I want is to have just a bit of text and/or picture pop up on the picture, and not open another page or link to another web. More like a point of interest not a link.

I found a site that looks like it has an 'Add-in' called 'Hotspot Tooltips', I've downloaded it but have no idea about how to make it link to Frontpage, any help would be appreciated.

For your interest here is the site with the add-ins, http://www.jimcosoftware.com/addins.aspx

Cheers Andy.

Depending on what you would like - you can add the attribute title to your <a> element something like:
<a href="http://www.example.com" title="Example Web Site">Example</a>

Sorry I did not provide it in the hotspot code, but you should be able to get the gist of it.

Otherwise check out Links and Tooltips on Dynamic's Drive website.

(It looks really weird to see a link to one of my posts for some reason - but thank you for the link!)
