I'm trying to learn MEW after years of using FP ... I'm the type of person who does best with a good ol' fashioned print "how to" book.

Obviously, there are a slew of them out there. Any recommendations as to which ones are best? I'm an average user (not terribly advanced) and weak on CSS.

I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

Using Microsoft Expression Web by Jim Cheshire. It came with a CD of web tools and some tutorials. It is good. It is one of the first books on EW and many of us bought it.

Thanks, Corey. I found the one by Leeds and had originally dismissed it because of the low amazon ratings. But after reading the reviews and getting your recommendation, I ordered it. Apparently, some people didn't like the fact that it was mainly for those of us making the transition from FP to EW.

However, I'm stumped on the CSS Zen Garden book. It's not listed on amazon. Is that the exact title? Do you know where I can purchase it?

Sorry about the title. My roommate is actually doing a website and read Chris' book - he had never messed with FrontPage at all but it helped him immensely with Expression Web.

He also bought the CSS Zen book - mainly because he enjoyed reading their website as well.

There are a lot of great web sites out there as well for Expression Web and CSS. Take your time and don't be like my roommate (he hates to ask questions) and usually sits in there for a few hours trying to figure something out - and chances are I have a link to it since we all probably have ran into some types of the same problems

HA! I'm just like your roommate. It's a point of honor to me to figure something out myself, although after a day or so if I am stumped, I *may* post a question on a forum (or I may just obsess over it for a few more days).

Thanks for the info. I'll check out that CSS Zen site and book. To be perfectly honest, the name puts me off since I'm so sick and tired of Zen this and Zen that! But, if I can get past that, I'm sure I'll learn a lot there.

He seemed to enjoy the site css Zen Garden so that is why he supported them / purchased the book.

For the most part, he has ran into annoying little things (which I have a link for :) ) - i.e. the 3 pixel jog on Internet Explorer.

Don't be afraid to ask the question - ten minutes later, you might figure it out. Post the solution and I guarantee that you / your post will help at least 100 people.

I also recommend the Jim Cheshire book. Someone once told me when given a choice, books published by QUE tend to be excellent, and that's why I chose this one. Turned out to be a good choice. BTW the title actually begins with Special Edition Using... which matters if you wonder if you've found the right one or not.

Thanks, TedK1 -- That's one of the two I bought. The other was the Step by Step book. Of course, I haven't even had a chance to glance through them yet but it's on my "to do" list!!!
