muriel -> Include Pages (4/2/2001 23:37:00)

I have been following the thread for Kat about the Include componet. It has been very informative but I have a question. I did as directed, made new pages and folders. Now when I make the heading on it's lone page do I put it in a table thus is the include( when included) a table within a table?
Thanks for all the information
Muriel

This can be a yes and no answer.

If you want an include page as the header for a page (much as a shared border might be) you probably will want to put the information into a table, but on the page where it is 'included', it mostly likely will not be placed into a table. The main page can have 'stacked' tables - one below the include page header to have all your content.

If you are using the include page to contain a navigation bar, and only want to set it in one place (a cell) you might only want to put that information on the include page, not necessarily in a table.

If you have a table on the include page, yes it will become a table within a table on the page where it is included.

For example, this page here at the forum, has some information at the very top - a blue bar, and logo etc. This information is probably in an include page, and is a table. On your page, at the very top, insert your include page. Then underneath that insert a new table for your content. (stacked tables)

Hope this made sense.
Nancy

You do not have to put the content of the include page in a table. If you do so, it will be ok. What you are saying is a nested table. A table within a table. Will work like that just fine. But as I mentioned you do not have to put the include file info in a table first. Just place it where you want it ie; center of page , right or left. Set other attributes as well. Bold, font, etc.

Thank you Nancy and Gene for your replies.
It does make sense. I am having trouble with the table on the template page setting up the way I want it to so that I can place the includes where I want. I want the cell on the left to hold the nav. include and the cell to t he right and top to be the heading
include
then in another large cell under and to the right to be the body. When I add the include nav. THe heading cell will not hold its height. Even though it is set it stretches. http://www.fun-a-fair.com/aaatemplate/template.htm
Also I have set the margins to be 0 pixals top and left I still get a space in preview.

Again thank you!
Muriel
