FPSE compatibility with Firefox or Safari? - 3/12/2008 15:38:46
Are there known issues with FPSE working in Firefox or Safari browsers?

I've not found any problem, but then I don't really use anything that needs the FPSE other than the DIW.

Why would the use of ANY browser make a difference? FPSE are server extensions and run on the server, not in the browser. FPSE only deliver HTML code to the browser. Assuming they generate valid HTML code, they should operate just fine with most any competent browser.

Depends what you are having problems with. If it's just site display or functionality then browser won't affect it. That would more than likely be down to FPSE installation faults or your site design.

If you're talking site updating using the browser that's a different kettle of fish. We'd need to have more information from you.

When I test my email form in IE, Firefox & Safari, the email works only in IE. After clicking the Submit button, I can see the URL contains the FPSE /_vti_bin/, the confirmation page displays and the email is received. When I repeat in FF & S, the FPSE is not displayed in the URL even though the confirmation page is displayed and the email is not received. My thought was that there might be a compatibility issue with the browser.

Just sent you a test submission from Firefox and it's working fine.

Oh and think very carefully about that darn talking head. :)

It appears to be working fine from the sender's point of view since the confirmation page does populate. However, I just checked my database & email and nothing was received.

I found the problem... a bit embarassing actually:).

I had set the form properties on the submit button with a confirmation page and then went and set a hyperlink on the submit button to the confirmation page. IE must process the form prior to the hyperlink and vice versa for Firefox & Safari.

Thanks jaybee for taking the time to help!
