PLEASE Help! In Big Trouble... - 3/17/2008 20:13:16
Hi. I'm *so* in trouble. =(
I'm doing a webpage for work, and made one of the *stupidest* mistakes possible. D=
I was deleting a bunch of empty folders, and accidentally deleted my "images" folder with them all... :)
This has screwed up *every* page, and cost me tons and tons of hours of work, and I have to hav it done by Wednesday!
:):)
... Can I get my files back?

U_U
Thank you...

If you use a windows machine those folders may be located in your 'Recycle Bin'

Don is right - Unless the Images folder was so large that its size exceeded the capacity of the Recycle Bin to handle the delete command, the folder should be there. Assuming it is, click Edit >>Select All, then File >>Restore and you should be back in business.

Good luck :)

No, they weren't in my recycle bin; of course that's the first place I looked.
See, I didn't delete them from the folder iteself (like, it was in Documents, so I *didn't* just open Documents and then delete the folders from there), but from Frontpage, when you open the program and it shows the list of all your folders and files? I highlighted a bunch of folders and hit delete all from there.
Does that make sense??
So there was nothing in my Recycle bin at all. =( It's like they just...vanished. =/

If you had already published it to the host, you can publish the images folder back down.

Failing that, I assume your company does backups?

Deleting from inside FrontPage does, in fact, make them "vanish" since the delete action is not controlled by Windows.

Jaybee is right, files can be retrieved (published down) from your host or backups :) In the case of the former, let us know if you need work steps.

You also might check www.archive.org - they sometimes will have a few. Most web host providers though do offer some type of back up system.
